Academy of Distinguished Alumni
The WVU Alumni Association is accepting nominations for the 2013 Academy of Distinguished Alumni. The Academy of Distinguished Alumni honors WVU graduates who have attained national or international distinction in their profession or discipline.
This prestigious award has been a tradition since 1988 and has been given to more than 75 WVU alumni, including Jerry West, David Selby, Dr. Nancy Nielsen, Rod "Hot Rod" Hundley, Don Knotts, Sam Huff and Gen. John Craddock.
Inductees are nominated by the general membership of the Alumni Association or their respective schools or colleges. Nominees cannot be employees of WVU, the WVU Alumni Association or the WVU Foundation, Inc., but does not exclude members of the Board of Governors, Foundation Board, etc.
Please complete the form below and attach the following documents: a resume of the individual, including any supporting documentation (newspaper clippings, awards, etc.), a biography or list of biographical sources, and three letters of recommendation. Nominations will be accepted through Oct. 1, 2012.
Please note: In February 2009, the WVU Alumni Association Board of Directors amended the bylaws of the Academy to allow posthumous nominations. In addition, the Board also voted to include a rolling nomination process so that those nominated will remain on the slate for consideration for future years.
